meet the family

let me start by saying,
the reason i was so shocked by the proposal was mainly because matt had initially explained that he wouldn't propose until i met his family, who are all in ohio. this was reasonable enough. the shock of the engagement, then, was due to the fact that i graduated on the 12th and we weren't supposed to leave for ohio until the 16th. even though i knew it was coming, i was completely caught off guard (in the good, engagements-should-be-surprising sort of way). above are a few pictures from our time in ohio. top to bottom: a picture of me and matt in ohio state and texas woman's university sweaters; a picture of matt with his dad and his dad's fiance, jacquie; a picture of us with matt's stepdad david, mom patricia, sister heather and nephew jeremiah; and a picture of me back home as an official buckeye in texas. thank you to all you kind ohioans who made it so much fun to visit!

what we've been up to

the day he met the millers

one of our first dates

for those who are curious...here are some pics of us from the last few months. since i didn't start the blog until just now (can you imagine how freaked out a guy would be if i made a blog about us *before* we were engaged?!), i've posted some pics to help you "catch up" on what we've been doing prior to our engagement. unfortunately, my computer was stupid and lost a bunch of the pics, so you'll have to make do with the few i have left :( sorry!

meet the kings...sort of

okay, so we aren't officially the kingS. we're actually a king and a miller. but on december 1, 2007 we will be mr. & mrs. king. the pictures included are a picture of us from thanksgiving 2006, shortly after we started dating, and the pictures of the actual proposal on may 12, 2007 during my graduation party. yes, the proposal was in front of everyone at the party, and yes, i (and everyone else) did cry. it was a wonderful graduation gift!
and, for the record our names are jessica, also known as jes (with one "s" because two, if you care to look it up, refers to a kind of hawkleash, which i am not), and james, who frequently goes by matt (his middle name, commonly used by his families, fiance, and ohio friends).
