playtime

we're back again! for those of you who are curious why it took so long for me to update the blog i'll give you the quick version. after my computer was finally fixed and i thought we were completely problem free, my camera broke! after a little debate, matt and i decided to go ahead and purchase a new one and it arrived a few days ago in the mail (thank you costco.com!). in the mean time, we've been living life as usual. the pictures for this post are from july, when i spent the day babysitting my niece, olivia, so my sister and brother-in-law could go on a date. lexi loved it because it meant she had another dog (her cousin baily, also a lab) and someone her size (liv) to play with. the pics are of liv eating dinner, lexi and liv sharing a teething ring (i know, i took it away!), baily and lexi playing, and our *wonderful* puppy exhausted after playtime (i have no idea what she got on her nose!).

these pictures were taken when our friend eddie came to visit and meet lexi. we had dinner and then lexi got some extra special attention from both her dad and eddie (as seen in the pics!), and of course, her mom who was taking the pics. the other pics are of lexi chewing on her bone (instead of something else, yay!) and of the poor little girl trying to fit into what was once her favorite hideaway under my kitchen bar. the little pup refuses to admit she has outgrown the spot and continues to attempt to fit her entire body between the post and the wall! the last pic is of lexi after a hard day of play...good doggie :)

lexi's learning

the pictures here are just to show you how quickly our little girl is growing up. the first image is of her being a total "daddy's girl" (we know she's spoiled!) you can tell they absolutley hate the attention they receive from one another ;) the next pic is of lexi looking at the rain, wishing it would stop. we quickly learned that she doesn't enjoy being outside when there is water falling on her. the last two pics are of lexi learning to walk down the stairs. it was slow going at first, but she's got it down pretty well now, and i'm sure her bigger size helps, too. initially, she would stand at the top or the bottom of the stairs and bark for someone to transport her - like her own personal elevator. fortunately for us, she's finally outgrown that!

catching up

hello again, everyone! we are finally back in business with a brand new internal hard drive and a completely re-configured computer. many thanks to my brother (in-law) ray, for taking the time to come over and fix my ailing PC. raymond, we love you! i will make a few posts with some of the pictures everyone hasn't been able to see to give you an idea of all of the not-super-exciting, but still worth posting, things going on around here lately. the pictures above are from july 1st (i know!!!) when matt, my mother and i went to pick out the wedding cakes. yes, there was sampling, and yes it was tasty! don't worry though, we picked out the good ones and you will get a bite or two at the wedding (after matt and i are done!) after the cake tasting matt and i headed to my parent's house to spend an evening playing on their (then) new wii game system. it was *loads* of fun and i recommend it to everyone! the first picture is a look at the downtown dallas sky during all the torrential rains we received recently. we ended up driving right into the storm to get to the cake guy, but the cake was worth it! the others are of matt "bowling," my "victory dance" and my dad "golfing"
