a very busy day

so...the day started off normal enough, i had decided to try to sleep in so i could attend my nephew, alex's, 8th birthday party at 2pm. i was scheduled to work at 5pm so scheduling was already a little tight and i knew i was going to miss out on some sleep. however, my day actually started off with a call from my sister sarah, who said that liv had busted her eyebrow on her bedpost and they needed an ER nurse to come close the wound. after many unsuccessful attempts with bandaids, tape and tegaderms, i finally placed a call to an ER doctor and friend of mine who agreed to see us "in the back" meaning no registration and no wait. by this time it was already after noon and after looking at the cut, the doc said it would need stitches or dermabond (a type of skin glue). unfortunately, to get the dermabond, we needed to have liv registered as a patient. after talking to sarah (who was at home trying to sleep after having worked the night before) and ray (in the ER with me), it was determined that for the sake of liv's beauty we would register her as a patient and have her eyebrow glued back together. while all this is going on, i'm feeling sickly and throwing up, and matt and my other sister, shari were working out a custody disagreement with shari's ex-husband over her kids. when all was said and done we made it to the party...the whole family...and had dinner, homemade cake and homemade ice cream. shortly thereafter, though, liv had to leave for her nap, matt had to take lexi to her training class, and i had to run to work. i think we all slept well that night! the pics are of shari's kids playing with the dogs, ray & liv in the ER, lexi after her first swim (ever!) and alex with his birthday cake.
