the perot museum

for christmas we received a membership to the new perot museum of nature and science. this was exciting because, not only are matt and i total nerds (in the cool way, of course), but while i worked at children's hospital downtown, i saw the construction of the building and vowed to go once it opened.  so, on january 11th we loaded up the kids and met our friends the freys (who have a son only a little younger than noah) there.
the museum was amazing, with all sorts of neat activities and exhibits.  of course, being there with younger children we spent a lot of time in the children's area (for kids 5 and under only), and did not get a chance to really explore all the exhibits.  the kids did get a chance to race a t-rex, feel an earthquake simulation, and watch the water cycle and seemed to enjoy it a lot.  well, until lunch time, at least.
fortunately, we also made plans to go to liberty burger and enjoy some delicious burgers and sweet potato fries.  it was wonderful to go out and do something and spend time with another family.  and since we have a membership, we are already trying to plan our next trip.  only next time, hopefully we'll remember to bring a stroller so sammy can nap while we play.
