a trip to the dallas zoo!

the week of labor day i scheduled myself a "stay-cation."  with two kids, two FT jobs, and the regular just plan being busy of normal life, it's hard to balance...everything.  so after transitioning to a new job at Las Colinas Medical Center -- a move that allows me to be a little less busy, despite making my commute a bit farther -- i decided it was time to take some time off, and not for maternity leave.  i realized that, other than taking maternity leave, i haven't taken any "real" time off (read: scheduled days off and used PTO) since matt and i went on our honeymoon in december of 2007!
but, being the kind of person i am, i had to make a schedule of things to get done vs. things to do.  we got some home improvement projects done around the house (see the pictures of our newly painted bedroom in this post!) and planned fun activities for the family.  one of the activities included our first family trip to the dallas zoo.

it was warm, but the kids seemed to enjoy it, despite us keeping them out later than usual for naps and such.  we saw a good majority of the zoo and noah enjoyed identifying all the animals.  sam mostly enjoyed riding the in the stroller :)
