the backstory...
it was in april that matt and i unanimously agreed to move back to texas, what we couldn't decide was when...simply because that wasn't up to us! the best we could do was to say that we would move back when one or both of us had a steady income/job in texas, which we figured would be sometime in june or july. obviously, that didn't happen. i agreed to start work at children's medical center in the middle of august, which meant we couldn't move too much sooner than the last part of july or early august. the one consideration i had, however, was that we were not going to miss maddie's first birthday party since we were headed this way anyway. after some planning with matt, my parents, my jobs and my sister we figured out a way to accommodate the moving plans with the party. we arrived back in texas on the 4th and the party was on the 8th. we were fortunate enough to be there to celebrate her entry into this world a year ago on july 31st with the family, cake and the traditional proctor slideshow.
and, of course, the birthday girl was simply adorable! and how could she not be...she's the third child! ;)
