3 weeks

Week number three and just a few things to report.  I did notice that Evan is *much* more awake this week as we have moved past the sleepy newborn phase.  We did have Evan's newborn photos taken last Friday which proved to be slightly difficult because he has already become so much more alert.  Fortunately our photographer was wonderful and able to get some really sweet shots of the little guy, both on his own and with his siblings.  Can't wait to see all the photos!
Other news to report this week is that Evan also got lots of attention from his cousins.  We had two swim days at our house -- on Tuesday and Wednesday Grandma Sharon brought over the other grandkids to enjoy some family time and to give me some company and a helping hand.  On Wednesday I especially needed some help with the older King kiddos because we had to take Evan to meet the rabbi who performs circumcisions for birthing center clients.  Noah and Sam got to stay home and play (and then nap) while Evan went to the appointment with Matt and I.  Sorry, Evan!  Of course, the reason we used the rabbi is because he is very good at what he does and it's very fast.  Evan was a little fussy the rest of the evening, but seems to be recovering well.  Then this morning we went to see the midwife at ABC for my follow up appointment.  Everything looked well for both of us, and Evan weighed in at a solid 9 lbs 1/2 oz.  He also passed his hearing test with flying colors.  Yay!
Check back again for further updates and more pictures! :)

some pictures from our first *real* bath after the umbilical stump (finally) fell off
i think he prefers it over the sponge baths he had been getting, but still isn't a huge fan

enjoying some time in the bouncy seat
